I have food allergies, does that matter?
The Harvest Kitchen cooks with a variety of ingredients and is NOT allergen-free. We request that you inform us of all food allergies or dietary restrictions when registering for a class in the comment box of the registration form or by contacting harvestkitchen [at] jonesfamilyfarms.com. An effort will be made to accommodate all food allergies known about in advance of the class, given they are not severe allergies and do not greatly impact the menu. We also reserve the right to substitute ingredients and menu items in an effort to serve the freshest, highest-quality food available.
What to Wear
Comfortable clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes are required for safety. Please no high heels or sandals. Many of our summer classes begin in the garden where we harvest produce for our meal, so plan accordingly. An apron is provided as part of cooking classes.
What happens if I can't make it to a class I registered for?
If you cannot attend a class, we encourage you to find a friend or family member to fill your place. As stated in our cancellation policy (copied below), class registrations are non-refundable. You can transfer your class registration by emailing your name, their name, and the class you are signed up to attend to the Harvest Kitchen (harvestkitchen [at] jonesfamilyfarms.com).
The Harvest Kitchen Cooking Studio is an adjunct cooking school offering seasonal classes in an intimate setting. Harvest Kitchen classes are intentionally kept small and personal to maximize each student’s educational experience and to reflect the love of family-style meals. Because the program offers high quality instruction, ingredients, and attention to detail missing one registered attendee from the class impacts the sustainability of the program. For this reason class registrations are non-refundable. If unable to attend class the registered guest can transfer their registration to another person. To transfer registration guest must contact email@example.com. The Harvest Kitchen reserves the right to cancel a class. We will do our best to inform you of cancellations as early as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.
Does the Harvest Kitchen host private cooking classes or events?
The Harvest Kitchen does not host private parties or private cooking classes. If you are looking for a farm/winery setting to host a private event, we recommend visiting The CT Wine and Vineyard Association website, www.ctwine.com.
All Harvest Kitchen classes are kept small in order, approximately 12 to 16 attendees, to create a more personal learning environment. Because of this, guests can only register up to four people for a particular class.
No one under the age of 21 may consume alcoholic beverages in classes serving wine.
